I recently visited Kristy's Cafe and was a bit disappointed with my experience. The food was average and the prices were quite expensive for what you got. I had the kids hamburger with fries, which was okay but definitely could have been better for the price.
Overall, I would give Kristy's Cafe a 3.5 out of 5 stars. While the atmosphere and service were nice, the food and prices didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's not a bad place to eat, but there are likely better options in the area for the same price or less. That being said, the cafe has some redeeming qualities such as friendly staff, so it's worth considering if you're in the area and looking for a quick bite to eat.
We went to breakfast on a Sunday morning and there was only one cook and one server which made the wait to eat, long. But we aren't complaining about that, just FYI kind of thing. The food was amazing and service was great. It was clean and very unique inside. Theres inside and outside seating, bathrooms available and decent parking spaces. Nice choices and plenty of options on the menu. We were happy we stopped by. They left a good impression on us.
August 2022. I must say after Christy’s sold her restaurant the quality hasn’t dropped. The new owners maintained the tradition of delicious pastries and the venison pie is no longer on the menu, but my new favorite is Mince with Mushrooms.
Best venison pie in New Zealand. Christy is up for sale that’s a little bit sad.
We were lucky to get this legendary pie
