Three thumbs up!
Being a (somewhat lol) connoisseur of international (if you know me, you will know my travel history) cuisine and yes, street food, I let my taste buds do the reviewing.
Food wise, Baltao and Co has captured the essence of Filipino street food! Quick, easy, simple and friendly. (Want a soft drink (what you kiwis call fizzy drinks)-there’s the bar where you can drink to your hearts content).
It heralds memories of my time in the Philippines where we would hang out at literally the kanto (steer corner) and pick at the bbq, fish balls, pork belly, etc for hours, talking the evening or night away.
Yeah, I had to wait a bit, but that’s part of the charm of Baltao. The experience of what organized-chaos is. I’ve been back several times for the good ambiance and better food.
If you’re looking for first class service, this isn’t the place for it. If you’re looking to experience Filipino street food culture, you’ve come to the right place.

The staff was overwhelmed with customers when we were there last week which took my order to arrive a long time. I hope they can upgrade their order processing to avoid long lines. BUT! Their food definitely made up for the long wait. We had the ribs, melts-in-your-mouth pork belly, skewers, and turon which are all 💯👌! It satisfied our street food cravings!
This place is great! Amazing food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. Highly Recommended!
