This has been a must do every time we visit Wanaka. Usually for one of our birthdays. It has always provided great cuisine and very consistent top level of service. Between the 4 of us we ordered a wide array of options on the menu and they were all very good. Great wines too.
Lovely food, great service. My downfalls would be the sourdough which we ordered as an entree. The meal came out cold even though it was toasted, tasting almost stale. However, it was soon forgotten when the rest of the dishes arrived. Ordered the pork belly entree which was divine, interesting mix of sweet and savoury. It did come out luke warm, meaning the main dish, the lamb, was hands down my favourite. The nuts and meat was a unique pairing along side the sweet flavours but I would recommend to anyone. My partner got the beef, which was also great. For dessert, we ordered the lemon meringue and crème brûlée. This was the best crème brûlée I have ever tasted, don’t pass it up! The lemon meringue unfortunately paled in comparison.
Lovely French restaurant on a hilltop. Probably our best meal in NZ.
Energetic noise level vs. the quiet candlelight affair I would have expected. Our group had fun dining here enjoying thoughtfully prepared food and good wine.
I didn’t pay the tab so I can’t comment on value but this is probably considered a fine dining experience in Wanaka.
There’s enclosed patio at the front of this restaurant. I’d try to get a seat in there next time, better views.
Service was very attentive. All 12 of us enjoyed everything we ordered so it’s hard to say what I’d recommend after only a single visit but there’s a goof chance you’ll find something good on the menu when you go. And you should go
